Join us for an important discussion and input session for members on our collective advocacy asks for centering girls and gender-expansive youth in San Francisco, in preparation for a presentation on our recommendations to city officials and electeds on March 18th.

On March 18th, Alliance for Girls, the Young Women's Freedom Center, and the San Francisco Department on the Status of Women are co-hosting a special event in honor of Women’s History Month, Call to Challenge: The Urgency of the Needs of Girls and Gender Expansive Youth in San Francisco. This event will launch a coordinated advocacy effort to uplift their needs during COVID-19, and we'll be presenting our advocacy asks to the Mayor, members of the Board of Supervisors, and Department Heads in the city.

As we formulate and finalize the recomendations, we want to make sure we’re centering your needs and the needs of your girls and gender-expansive youth. As gender justice advocates, you are aware of the needs of your community and your input is extremely valuable. Please review our drafted recommendations and share your feedback here by March 12th. In addition, we’ll be hosting a members-only meeting on Thursday, March 11th, from 9:30-10:30am, for you to meet with our Senior Advocacy Manager, Haleema Bharoocha, and share input directly.
