Join us for a virtual Day of the Girl celebration and party, co-hosted by the San Francisco Department on the Status of Women, to celebrate the official release of Alliance for Girls*' inaugural #GirlsPolicyAgenda, the first youth-led policy platform of its kind for the Bay Area and California!

Together with an AFG-led coalition of Alliance members, youth leaders, and the community, AFG hosted 6 community events in the past year to develop our policy recommendations, gathering input from 200 people across the Bay Area. We are excited to share the final culmination of our policy agenda at this release party.

We'll enjoy tunes, current and classic, DJ-ed by Chulita Vinyl Club, so be ready to move!

We'll hear from our school partners and Advocacy Committee, as well as special keynote speakers on the power of community and youth-led advocacy. Presenters include:

  • Lael Jones, Spoken Word Artist

  • Lizette Xochiquetzalli Diaz, Outreach Specialist, YOALI

  • Sabrina McFarland, 2019 California State Youth of the Year

  • Dr. Shokooh Miry, Commissioner and Vice President, SF Commission on the Status of Women

  • Nakia Dillard, Program Manager, Alliance for Girls

  • Emma Mayerson, Executive Director, Alliance for Girls

Celebrate the launch of this inaugural policy agenda that seeks to create and advance systems of empowerment for girls and gender-expansive youth in the Bay Area, and beyond.
