Join us on November 1, 2023 for Hear Their Voices: LA Community Asset Mapping & Heat Map Shareback to learn more about Alliance for Girls’ research in Los Angeles County, with a focus on the experiences of girls and gender-expansive youth in South and Southeast LA (specifically SPAs 6 and 7) and the programs and services currently available to them in those areas. This virtual meeting will provide an overview of the newly published Community Asset Mapping and Heat Map report that was conducted by the Center for Nonprofit Management in partnership with AFG. Together we will discuss the data to determine next steps for an advocacy plan that addresses the needs of girls and gender-expansive youth in SPA 6 and 7 of Los Angeles County.

At this meeting we will:

Learn about the landscape of programs and services currently available for girls and gender-expansive youth in South and Southeast LA and how to leverage the data and accompanying heat map
Hear directly from girls from Black Women for Wellness who were involved with the research on their experiences with the project and living in LA
Participate in breakouts to discuss the research and to develop recommendations for schools, community-based organizations, funders, and policymakers
