Starting in March 2020, Alliance for Girls* (AFG) shared a survey designed by girls and gender-expansive youth and disseminated to their peers up to 24 years old across California to learn more about their needs and experiences during COVID-19. Over the next 11 months the AFG team, led by its youth researchers and with input from other research partners, published a series of six data snapshots highlighting the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place on the 1,214 youth respondents who completed the survey.

On Thursday, June 17th, AFG's youth researchers will present this comprehensive data analysis on COVID's compounding impacts on girls and gender-expansive youth, what has helped them, and steps we can take to center them as we begin to transition to a post-COVID reality.

Join us to be one of the first to learn about our final data analysis and drafted recommendations, and contribute to the final recommendations. We'll have breakout discussions for youth, our members and other youth-serving organizations, school partners, and funders to discuss the research and provide additional input on what is necessary to ensure girls and gender-expansive youth thrive during and after COVID.

This event is free and open to the public. The event will be hosted on Zoom. If you have any accommodation needs, please let us know at least 48 hours prior to the event. We'll make every effort to provide them.

*“Girls” refers to gender-expansive youth (cis girls, trans girls, non-binary youth, gender non-conforming youth, gender queer youth and any girl-identified youth).
